Interesting pictures Tom,
         I can see several things right away. It appears the radio was not 
double-boxed. The box used was not new. It looks like the box was single-wall 
cardboard, not double-wall? They did not reinforce the corners or edges with 
wide packing tape. The thin packing tape used was not adequate to hold the box 
closed. What kind of padding did they use - I can't tell from the pictures?
