Collin,

You can test the relay in place with the cal / function switch.

You can use a simple ohms check for the test.
The receiver side of the relay should go to ground when you set the receiver
to cal.
The antenna side of the relay to receiver side of the relay should go open
when you set the receiver to cal.

If your relay is working, then the transmitter couples enough RF into the
receiver so that even the grounded input has plenty of signal to pass through the
receiver.
This can happen.

If your relay is not working consider the following.

You can unsolder the leads on the antenna relay and remove it from the
chassis.
The relay has little fiber pins that slide through the metal relay frame
assembly.
They are activated by the antenna relay coil.

These pins some times stick in the metal frame and do not switch the inputs
to ground.

The relay coil may be open and thus not operating.

The relay reeds may be bent from some previous bad maintenance and not
grounding.

The inside of the relay may be dirty and not grounding.

The wire from the bridge to the relay is open.

The bridge may be a problem.

The breakin to audio mute relay is a different circuit than the breakin to
antenna relay circuit. Time to check the schematic and do a bit of
troubleshooting.

Consider a cal check. Tune the AM station at 1, 1,100 or 1,200 and set the
receiver to CAL. The AM station should drop out. Also WWV at 10,000 will server
for the test.

CAL operates the antenna relay but not the audio mute relay.
