[R-390] Break In

I must have another problem which I am unaware of at this time. I am 
using the diode load pick off point and an external audio amplifier. 
When I switch the break in switch on with the jumper on the terminal to 
ground, I get about no change in received signal audio from the 
external amplifier. The audio from the local audio goes silent. Sounds 
like my antenna relay may be broken or stuck. Any ideas?
