[R-390] RF deck delight!

I recently purchased an overhauled R-390A RF deck on
ebay from D.W. Holtman.  I am very impressed with his
work.

I have done a lot of electronic restoration work on my
Collins 1955 R-390A.  It took many long hours, but I
took it from a barely working dud to a Drake R8
killer.  But, my RF deck geratrain had issues -
mechanical alignment, grease, crud, etc.  And, I am
"gear challenged".

Yesterday I completed the install of the "new" RF
deck.  D.W.'s workmanship is superb.  The gears, cams
etc. are surgically clean.  Alignment is dead on.  He
replaced the brown beaties with my personal favourites
- modern yellow metallized film caps - exactly the
same I have used in my own restoration work.

Performance is superb, tuning effort minimal - I can
tune with one finger!

Very pleased!
