Hi Bill, but the P/N you give in the email is for the 8 ma relay and is
the same as in the ER article. Isn't the correct P/N 653-G6A-274P-DC48 for
the 5 ma type? At least it appears as such in my 627 catalog p 1363. Or am
I missing something here? Enjoyed reading the article and appears to be a
good mod that I may try someday. Dan.

Subject: [R-390] Correction in My ER Article
Hi All,
I made a big P/N goof in my R-390A article in the September issue of
Electric Radio. I just found out about it when I returned this week from my
New Mexico vacation. It was my fault not being more careful re-looking up
the part number after doing the modification and loosing the bag with the
part number the relay came in.
I mistakenly listed in the text for the product detector modification a 8ma.
coil relay instead of the 5ma. one I used. The right Mouser P/N is
653-G6A-274P40-DC48. But if someone has already ordered the wrong relay it
will work fine if a 22K coil resistor is used in place of the 39K in the
schematic for R2B. Also I used a 5 watt metal film resistor for R2B because
I happened to have one and not a 2 watt that is smaller and will work fine
since the required dissipation is only .94 watts. So a 2 watt will work
fine for R2B if you have one or are ordering the resistor.
There will be a correction in the October issue but just wanted to give
those of you on the reflector a heads up because some of you may be the most
likely to use the modification. Also readers seem to often miss the
corrections. Next time I'll be more careful.
