[R-390] OT - a little - Northern SP-600

I mentioned the changing of the line-up in receivers in my last post, 
referencing the Northern version of the SP-600.

I had an interesting experience in the last couple of weeks with it.

It HAD been deaf as a stone on the two highest band settings.  The one's 
that cover 10 meters and 6 meters.  It had been that way when I first 
got it a couple of years ago.

I figured the particular switching that brought them into the radio were 
probably dirty and simply put that on my list of things to do.

Well, I was VERY surprised, while trying them once again, getting the 
SAME silence once more and THEN tuning to the VERY lowest extreme with 
the main tuning knob and MIRACULOUSLY getting NOISE!  Continued tuning 
on 6 meters had me catch a QSO on 6 on going!

Now I guess I'll NEVER figure or find out why it WAS deaf.  It still 
works just fine!

Another one of those quirks that simply may never have an explanation.
