[R-390] 390A---and a bedside radio

I Went back to school full time a few years ago, the little woman and I
moved in with Ma and Dad, right into one bedroom with at least 15
boatanchors, with two or three all set up. These are real boatanchors too , a
few SP-400's and 200's with separate power supples etc. My wife couldn't
complain however as she buys as much "junk" as I do and it was also in the
bedroom, it was difficult walking in the room even though it was a big
bedroom. None of the radios were near enough to the bed to use however as I
have a hard time going to bed as it is, they kind of call out to me if you
know what I mean. I now have only a Bose Wave radio to wake me up in the
morning in the bedroom.
We moved out and I have my own radio room now but the in-laws have been here
for more than two months and yes you know where they are sleeping, so I have
a radio set up in the living room. She keeps saying "This is only temporary
right?" The antenna cables going down the hall from my room bother her more
than the SP-600 that is sitting on top of a sturdy table with shelves (don't
know what else to call it) with half of my tools in it. The R390-A will go
next to it when it arrives until my inlaws go back to Peru on Oct 10, haha!

>>For a bedside general coverage set try a Panasonic RF2200. Although not
>>digital it is a very sensitive and overall great set. The calibrator
>>brings
>>you up to near zero beat of the frequency. The FRG 7 is ok but occupies
>>some
>>space in a bedside night table. I have been using a Grundig S350 for my
>>bedside radio and it is ok for this purpose. About the R390A for a bedside
>>radio? Well I knew a guy from whom I bought a couple of them years ago
>>that
>>used a rack with wheels and kept two R390As beside his bed at night and
>>rolled them out in the morning as per XYL instructions. The nice
>>arragement
