[R-390] 390A---and a bedside radio

For a bedside general coverage set try a Panasonic RF2200. Although not
digital it is a very sensitive and overall great set. The calibrator brings
you up to near zero beat of the frequency. The FRG 7 is ok but occupies some
space in a bedside night table. I have been using a Grundig S350 for my
bedside radio and it is ok for this purpose. About the R390A for a bedside
radio? Well I knew a guy from whom I bought a couple of them years ago that
used a rack with wheels and kept two R390As beside his bed at night and
rolled them out in the morning as per XYL instructions. The nice arragement
kept the marriage in peace.
