[R-390] HSN Status -- and a poll

Hi

The 'bama manual site is probably a good indicator of file size and
what the result would look like. If the issue were sold one at a time I
doubt that bandwidth would be an issue on the "sending" end. It might
be an issue on the receiving end. Aborted downloads on big files would
also be a hassle. I'm not sure exactly how to handle all that stuff.

My basic idea was to set up a single point to grab back issues from.
Once you got the bugs worked out with one magazine you could move on to
others. More or less like iTunes but for Boatanchors. Selling
compilations on CD is also a reasonable thing to do once it's all in
digital form.

As I search the net for stuff it's amazing just how much is *not*
present on the web. In order to get more stuff on it needs to make
sense financially.

Why should this matter to any of us ... well gee wiz - how many of us
learned this stuff back in the (gulp) 1960's or (double big gulp)
before that. We're not all going to live for ever. It would be a
terrible waste to see these radios go to the dump just because nobody
understood just how good they are any more. I firmly believe that these
radios will still be as good in 30 years from now as they are today.
I'm not so sure that there will be an active community supporting them
....

Boy that got a bit off topic .... sorry about that.

	Take Care!
