[R-390] Ramblings on Calibration

High level calibration for the 390a is certainly worth while. Last week
I was debugging a crystal
oscillator and used the 390a as the monitor. It was as stable as my
crystal for several hours and
the frequency was dead on. The problem with the crystal was mode
hopping as the water on the
gold electrode surface evaporated. I know this sounds strange, but I
use the crystals as bio-
sensors. This series of oscillators is to measure blood clot busting
drugs such as t-PA by growing
a clot on the crystal and watching the frequency shift and series
resistance change as the drug eats
the clot.
