While the frequency is actually way beyond what our 39x radios do handle,
I hope someone here can answer this.
My satellite dish signal loss always occurs when a certain amount of
precipitation is between the dish and the satellite transmitter. I observed
that a lightning discharge in the general direction of the satellite (south)
will restore reception for about 2 seconds. Could it be that the funnel
of highly ionized air acts like a reflective medium the same way that allows
round the world HF transmission to be possible by the ionizing layers in the upper atmosphere?
Thanks for any enlightenment.
