[R-390] Got the SP-600

Hi Bob:

Congratulations!

Just don't spin that dial too much in the first week -- you might get dizzy.
Do not put any oil on anything -- mostly. The tuning mechanism is basically
a friction/rim drive and if lube migrates to it, slippage occurs. You can
put a tiny droplet on each shaft bearing.

As for S/N's -- while the SP-600 is not modular, so not as subject to depot
dawginess as the '390A, the internal tag is usually on the turret cover and
it's possible they got swapped at the depot. Some of those tags were never
stamped and say "J-" or "JX-" -- nothing. Don't know about those.

I guess Northern Radio got a batch of new (or used?) SP-600's and refurbed
and modded them.

Enjoy!

Barry
