[R-390] Got the SP-600

Well Gang,

    I made the swap.

    I brought it home and HAD to get it on an antenna!  I have to say 
that it IS a different animal.  I have NO idea how to even TRY to do a 
comparison to an R-390A.

    Yes, they are the same BUT they are different.

    This one needs a "little" work, but not much.  One band works when 
it feels like it  The issues appear to be tube pins to clean, and 
switches to clean.  That's a WHOLE lot less than a restoration.

    My first BIG like - much better audio!  My first dislike - trying to 
figure WHERE to connect coax, when there are about FIVE SO-239s.

    Of COURSE the one for the antenna is the UNMARKED one.

    The front panel has engraved "Hammarlund SP-600.  The tag on the 
VFO/Bandswitch enclosure(?) says type J11.  Then there is ALSO a 
Northern Radio tag on the front that says Model 159.

    The internal tag has a different S/N than the Northern Radio tag..  
the internal has a 17XXX s/n, The external has an S/N of 740.

    Confusing.

    Ken please post the manual on your site so I can download it.  I 
have high speed access - about 0.7MBps.
