Okay, I realize this is a bit off-topic but I'm posting it back to the
list because someone was actually making these new windows and I can't
recall who. Anyone remember? I picked up a decent S-27 there two years
back for $25 as a parts donor, but it's too nice to part out. Missing
some tunbes, the cabinet, tuning knob and a few other small things but
otherwise in good shape. Unfortunately I think the window is slightly
different in the -27, but maybe it's the dial I'm thinking of? Different
frequency coverage, slightly. I have a -12 or -15, can't recall which.
I'd like to find the navy gray version of the -16 with the smooth black
metal dial escutcheon, no 'S-36A' stamped into it. Seen a few, never
bothered to grab one.

Check around, I think you'll find that someone had those dial windows
reproduced. I need one for my AR88LF if anyone stumbles across one.
