[R-390] Variacs & original spec...

A Variac should be rack mounted with large AC volt and ammeters (with brass
bezels), an array of 1/2 inch jeweled pilots lights ('cause there purty) for
each piece of equipment.  The Variac should have a large old style "steering
wheel" type knob.
Since I can't do that, it will stay on the workbench where it will get some
use.
