Thanks to all for your responses and information on the SSB mod. I'm
looking forward to seeing the EAC schematic, since it seems to be the type I
have.
Federico: my panel is silkscreened. Dennis: the VFO vernier is electrical;
the control that replaced the dial lock is an air-variable capacitor,
connected to a line that seemingly connects to the PTO. I didn't trace it
carefully.
