All: Thanks for the suggestions and help on the R-390A.  I have now
successfully completed recapping the IF, audio, and power supply sections,
and the improvement is quite significant.  Interestingly enough, the
distortion in the detector seems to have gone away (not sure what fixed it,
but I'll sure take it!).
