[R-390] Re: UPS is Garbage

Apologies--my remark was cute, but, out of context, meaningless. While Rick
needs no defense from me, I'd ask that everyone remember that it's not
possible to please everyone, and there are always two sides. For my part,
he was very
very good to me as a complete newbie, having bought an R-390-A which made
"funny grinding noises," and appeared not to be more sensitive than a
crystal set. Rick could easily have sold me the $1k restoration, but
instead looked at the radio, found it to be not as bad as I in my ignorance
feared, and serviced and aligned it for $250.00. No UPS probs, and the unit
has been on 24/7 for over a year performing very well indeed. ['tho I would
trade it for an immaculate 240-D with ice-cold air]. Dealing with the
public is fraught with all sorts of peril.
First posting, enjoy the list, thanks
John
