CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! Have been monitoring your endeavors and the advice
and help you got from the group. Sure is a great hobby we belong to. I
had similar problem 40 years ago with an internally broken connector
pin. 

I admire your persistence and perseverance. Good luck with the repair.
It's going to so sweet when you get that radio playing.
