Wow ! But maybe the 45's were an upgrade so you
didn't need to use those KT88's, or 3055 transistors....

Remember, the Iotians had access to technology
from the Enterprise, and maybe during one of the
Federation trips back to pick up their "cut", some
more material contaminated the past...
