That doesn't apply to the output of a half-wave rectifier. It only
applies to a pure sinewave or full-wave rectified sine wave (allowing
for diode voltage drop if you're dealing with low voltages). As Drew
pointed out, the RMS value of a half-wave rectified sine wave is
.5*peak.
