Well... I will not try to stop you from doing it.  I wouldn't stop you 
from killing your best dog, or turning a 1965 Mustang Convertible 
into a low rider.  If you own it, you can do it.

But I damn sure wouldn't help you do them either.  Other than the
known rectifier or 3TF7 mods, I doubt you will get much out of this 
group.

Usually, I would end it with "Good luck, let us know how it turns 
out."  In this case, I do not want to know, and will set a filter to 
dump further "Solid State R-390, Why Not?" messages to the 
spam-file.

Don't know what you do for a living, but please do not apply for a
curators position at the Smithsonian.
