[R-1051] audio/speaker

The radios were intended to drive a 600 ohm balanced distribution system.
The headphones were higher impedance from what I recall aboard the
ship. Far to many years ago. A semi- better match for the headphones would
be the 32 ohm units typically available for small mp3 players these days.
Just look for the impedance.

Back to the 600 ohms. Line outs were 1 mw levels approximately. That said
pretty much any amplifier will bring the audio to very fine levels.
Examples traditional $5 stereo amps found at flea markets or the dump.
Computer speakers with amplifiers etc. I use Broadcast grade balanced
wohler amp2 speaker amps only because it was free and has some nice
features. 2 RU tall etc

>From the line outs you could literally pick any two lines for the audio. I
glanced at the schematic its a full isolated transformer out. You could
grab any two pins and the audio would be fine since the amplifier you most
likely will obtain has a far higher input impedance. However you do want to
be consistent in the two pins you pick for both outputs otherwise you may
get a phase reversal in independent sideband. Not that it much matters.
