Hi Dave. Never much activity here. Is yours a 'plain' R-1051, or does it have a suffex??
I have a B here, and even found a 'shock mount' for it. I've only had mine apart a couple of times. I think I checked the two 6BZ6 RF Amps.
Just my opinion, next. I LOVE Caig products. Have used them for years. Whenever I restore a tube type radio or signal generator, when I replace the tube back into the device, I put a little deoxit on the pins and make sure I wiggle the tube as I insert it. Works great. I have 100+ tube type radios, etc here.
I see no reason why the connectors couldn't use the same treatment IF you apply sparingly, like with a toothpick.
I hope your chains are OK, as that seems to be a common issue....
regards,
ron

PS You can probably find some 'reviews' of this fine radio on "eHam"..... I believe I posted one there a long time ago...... Great radios!
Also a great bit about the radio in "Shortwave Receivers, Past and Present" by Osterman. 5 stars.

Subject: [R-1051] New R1051 Owner
GM List. I'm a new R1051 owner. I bought my radio at the Belton Hamfest
this last weekend. This is the 1st one of these receivers I've ever owned.
I need some advice. I want to clean the chassis module plug-in connections.
Is Deoxit OK to use for this???
Thanks
Dave Faria
