The motor had no continuity when I first checked it.  After cleaning the 
commutator and oiling the bearings it runs OK.  I got it all put back 
together, the motor runs but the bevel gear is spinning on the shaft and 
I can't get it tight with my crummy allen wrench.  I'll try Sears or 
NAPA tomorrow.  The size it .035" - not a common item.

Thanks for your help and I'll let you know when I get it finished.
