[R-1051] Complexity of the 1051

Friends,

I believe the recent information suggests a novice
enthusiast like myself would do well to avoid the 1051
due to difficulty in repair.

I do well to follow out a problem in my 390, and have
been able to complete repairs myself in only one case.
The radio is difficult for a non-tech.

Of interest is that I understand the operation quite
well of a recently purchased Yaesu FR dx400. and have
done several checks and repairs since getting the
unit, even with the less than desirable schematic. It
is now re-aligned as well.

I would never be able to deal with the 1051,  at all,
in event of a problem, right? It was to be my next
purchase, as I have long wanted one, so I appreciate
an opinion on this.
