[QRP] Dayton - last minute tips QRP FDIM

1. If you have not registered, pls do so asap.  It is too late to mail 
in the registration.  If you chose to use Pay Pal, it will be available 
until approximately 2100 UTC on Saturday, May 13.  fdim.qrparci.org  Can 
you register at the door?  For the Thursday seminars - YES!  But you may 
not get a pre-printed nametag (a real collector item!) and you may not 
get a goodie bag of goodies (first 250 only)!  Right now the total 
stands at 196 - see the ROSTER page on the above link.  For the banquet, 
MAYBE!  There may be seats available, but don't count on it.  If you 
need to wait til you get there to register, be sure to ask about the 
banquet the first thing to see if seats are available.

2. Bring an umbrella of some kind.  It has been known to rain.  But 
sadly, not tent this year!!  That was the TENTh year, this is the 11th!

3. Bring some QSL cards - DO NOT forget this one.  You'll need one for 
the outside of your door at the hotel - bring some masking tape to hold 
it on too!

4. RADIO SHOW AND TELL ++ Vendor night - FREE!! - Friday night should be 
a huge one!  Bring some stuff to show.  If you want to enter the 
competition for BEST BUILT/DESIGNED project bring some limited 
documentation, sort of like a science fair display would be great but 
not necessary.  If you want to just SHOW your stuff, just bring your 
stuff to show.  You don't even have to TELL about it if you don't want 
to.  I'd suggest you put at least some masking tape on the bottom so all 
those Altoids projects do not get mixed up.  Pls limit what you bring to 
half an 8 foot table.  In any event, tell the folks at the door which 
category you wish to be in and they will provide an appropriate tent 
card!  Try to get there between 7:30 and 8PM to set up your items.

5. Thursday FUN night - Also called MEET THE AUTHORS.  The speakers from 
the day of seminars will be there but there are some other fun 
activities planned.  This is a free form deal usually running from 8 til 
???   FREE!

6. Did I mention nametags?  You will get a nametag that is your ticket 
to paid events but for the other times or if you are not attending the 
PAID events you will not get one of our nametags.  Remember if your 
friend wants the goody bag and all the goodies, they need to register, 
even if they do not attend and have you pick up their goodies - this 
would include the BEST book of Proceedings ever which sells by itself 
after the event for $15 (at least!)  No we will not mail the goodie bag 
with the book in it!

Ok, what else can you add?  Things to bring, people to see.  If you want 
to be sure to meet someone you see on the list but do not have their 
email address, send me email and I'll send along to him/her to contact you.
