I took my K2 to Europe, along with a MP-1 mini-screwdriver vertical. 
>From a 6th floor hotel room in Tourcoing, France I operated in the
CQ-WPX CW contest running 5 watts.  My operating time was quite limited,
as we were visiting my wife's relatives, but I made about 30 contacts
all over Europe, plus A61AJ (United Arab Emirates) and 3V8BB (Tunisia). 
I had the vertical mounted to a table in front of the window with taller
buildings blocking most directions, so I was quite pleased with the
results.
