This list has been traditionally quiet. Most of the QRPers are over on
QRP-L. I show a dozen messages in April, and then none until this little
burst today.

I have a K1 and a 20 meter dipole. I generally run the K1 at 3 watts, can
pretty much get anyone I want on 20. The dipole does seem to favor northern
Europe, but it has landed me 5 continents. A while back I tried one of the
DX contests at 1 watt, then at 0.3 watts ... didn't seem to make a
difference. Later I tried at 0.1 watt, and that was noticeably more
challenging.
A quick peek through the old logs shows Madagascar, Easter Island, a lot of
Russians at 3 watts, Canaries, Galapagos, Balearic Islands, The Azores, plus
the normal lot of Europeans at half a watt.
My dipole is only up at about 30 feet, and it's nothing more special than 33
feet of wire strung between two trees, with a little homemade balun
(probably not good for much more than 5 watts) at the midpoint, then fed
with coax.
