QCWA Bulletin 2016-007 - Roberta Cohen, WA2FRW - New QCWA Office Manager

The QCWA Board met via teleconference On April 
15, 2016 to elect a new QCWA Office Manager, and 
are pleased to announce Roberta Cohen, WA2FRW 
will be the next person in the office at QCWA Headquarters.

Cohen began her new position on April 15, 2016. 
Current General Manager Tom Loughney, AJ4XM will 
continue employment to May 10, 2016 to provide 
for a smooth transition of the office.

Cohen is a QCWA Honorary Member and received her 
Technician license in 2011 as KK4CXK, later 
upgrading to Amateur Extra Class in 2012 
receiving her Father's original call WA2FRW. 
Cohen comes from a family of Amateur Radio 
operators including her late Father, uncle and 
brother Phil Barsky, K3EW. Her late husband Mort 
Cohen, WA2ARS (SK) was the QCWA treasurer from 
2012 to 2015. She currently resides in Apopka, FL.

Cohen has a Master’s Degree from Stony Brook 
University, NY, and is a Certified Math and Early 
Childhood Teacher with the city of New York City 
and New York State,  and has worked with various 
school districts and agencies in Suffolk County, 
NY in payroll from 1978 to 1985. Her last 
position was payroll supervisor, Smithtown, NY 
for 2,000 employees. From 2012 to 2014 she was 
volunteer QCWA Disbursement Administrator.

Cohen has been involved with conventions, from 
the 2002 QCWA National Convention in Kissimmee, 
FL, to the Orlando Amateur Radio Club - 
HamCation® from 2005 to 2010, managing all ticket 
sales and keeping financial records.
