QCWA Bulletin 2016-006 - ARRL CEO David Sumner, K1ZZ - Retires

The QCWA Board of Directors bid QCWA Member David Sumner, K1ZZ a 
happy and very enjoyable retirement.

Sumner has been on the ARRL Headquarters full-time staff for 34 
years. He was named Secretary and General Manager in 1982, with a 
change in title to Executive Vice President in 1985, and the 
additional title of Chief Executive Officer in 2001 (the title of 
Executive Vice President was phased out in 2011) and served as the 
IARU secretary from 1999 to 2009. He also work on and off at ARRL as 
a summer employee while attending school.

Sumner was first licensed in 1962 as KN1ZND. He now plans to relax 
with his spouse Linda, KA1ZD, and spend more time on the Morse key.
