Hi Folks,
I read the arguments (of Dale & Ken) and they both have a point. So I
bring up my compromise: Send out by mail a bimonthly Newsletter. This
would be something like a lifeline to our older members. Our chapter
puts out something like that. It is just a 1-page letter and, with
postage for 1 oz, it is under 50c per member. The first class postage is
the same if we added 9 more pages (a total of 5 sheets of 8x11). So a
lot of writing could be added and a few B+W pictures. Please do the
arithmetic, QCWA gets brakes fr Nonprofit status!
Vy73, Gerd, Pres Ch9.
P.S.
The computer is a fantastic tool, but believe me, once you get older one
new thing per year is enough. I get sick and tired of the "updates"
every other day. I tried Apple, no good, now I am on Linux, that's OK,
but still has kinks. The security stuff that is going around casts no
good light on the designers of our computers, apparently there are to
many "open back doors". I suggest a new Motto for Ham Radio: "If the
Computer fails --- there is Ham Radio". A radio (for hams), that
requires a PC to work, is a bad idea!
