Hi Doug;

   We’ve never met, but I can appreciate your concern and frustration from your point of view.  Hopefully, I can be of some help to you.  First of all regarding personal contact with National; I’ve never had any problems at all getting contact with Bob, Chuck or any other member.  Should a matter of major importance arise regarding an immediate response or urgent attention – a phone call would be warranted – rather than a timely email, at least that’s from my point of view.  I like the personal, “face-to-face” means of contact when addressing priority situations.   
   
   Secondly, your desire to focus upon reviving your Chapter has a lot of merit and you should be commended.  Attend local swap meets, set up a table with your QCWA banner, and have a sign in sheet.  The sign in sheet should have the NAME, QTH; LL; YEAR LIC; and QCWA CHAPTER as a minimum on it.  You have to realize, Doug, this isn’t easy.  You have to “sell QCWA” – rather than just sit there!  Greet people walking by and have everyone, and I mean everyone, sign in!    This will generate quite a few contacts for you to pursue.

   Thirdly, QRZ offers a ham search for your area and it’s free.  You can look up hams by suffix within your area.  This will further your resources for your membership quest.
Lastly, attend ham clubs in your area and request to be a guest speaker.  The club presidents are always looking for someone to offer some kind of a presentation about anything ham related.  With your background, ham knowledge, and time in the hobby – you’ve got a lot to talk about - PLUS – this is a great marketing tool for QCWA membership.
