Tony Sale, visiting from the UK, an authority on code breaking in WW2
and the leader of the “Colossus rebuild project” will give a special
presentation to all area hams and other interested parties.
“Colossus” was a 1500 tube-computing machine that could crank data at a
rate of 5,000 characters per second.
Tony is visiting to attend the premier of a new video showcasing the US
code breaking efforts in WW2, which had its center in Dayton with John
Desh in charge.
The Channel 16 TeleCenter is located at 110 South Jefferson Street in
Downtown Dayton--on the southeast corner of Jefferson Street and Fourth
Street. Free on-street parking is available on Sundays and paid parking
is available in the Dayton Transportation Center parking garage (enter
on Fifth Street just east of Jefferson Street.
