Hi Bob.....I always wondered where you learned your tricks !
My Elmer was Bunny Utronki VE3AVD who ran the radio repair shop
in RENFREW, Ont. (Notice...no tv yet.) years 1935/46).
His call translated to "Always Very Dry" on the air.
At the QCWA breakfast this morning I sat with Betty Newkirk,
VE3ZBB who is thw widow of W2BRD/VA3ZBB.(Rodney Newkirk)who was
one of the Editors of ARRL's QST for many years.He died here
in Ottawa a litle over a year ago . Rod and Betty are/were both QCWA
members of Chapter 70.We have always spoken to and about Rod as
the instigator of the ham "ELMER"
