Greetings Raymond,
Your chapter is one of those organizing the 2011 QCWA Convention in Rhode
Island. All the best on your hard work in that regard! We will look forward to
seeing you there, barring emergencies or such.
Your blurb is a very good presentation of what several others have said. We
need something to attract AND KEEP our "younger" members. Chapter/National
projects are one idea, as well as good presentations that include "some speakers
covering contemporary amateur radio matters" at chapter meetings, as you put it.
As far as our publications go, WE, i.e. the membership, can correct that by
contributing articles for publication in the Journal. It is all in our hands.
Even so, we need to add that point to our list:
1. Everyone recruit.
2. Recruit at local clubs and hamfests.
3. Create a warm, welcoming atmoshere at chapter meetings and get-togethers.
4. Improve the quality of chapter meetings by having interesting programs.
5. Promote a project at the chapter level, inviting member participation.
6. Improve Journal contents to include information for our "younger" members.
Thank you very much for your fine, experienced input. It is truly valued.
Cheers,
Dave VE3JX.
