Interesting statistics, however, the reduction in U.S. membership may have more to do with population demographics than QCWA membership.
The aging of our U.S. population could account for a significant part of the average 2.6% drop. Changes such as 'baby boomer' years will show up and perhaps our ranks will begin to increase.
Still, it is concerning that there are only 6,000 QCWA members out of a total U.S. ham population of nearly 700,000 (0.9%).
There are, no doubt, many eligible hams in the U.S. who do not know that QCWA exists. I was one of those until I happened to meet the president of our local chapter.
