[QCWA] Year requirment

Well stated. I see that there are a few (very few?) QCWA members with enough foresight to recognize that QCWA is in big "dodo" when it comes to facing the future.

Of course, I've only been licensed for 48+ years, a QCWA member since the late 80's and am now serving as president of Dallas Chapter 41, now entering my 4th consecutive term.......so what do I know?

I know that our chapter was in serious decline when I was asked to serve. From attendance as low as 8-10, we have grown to 12-20 at our monthly meetings.

We faced the fact that something HAD to be done. We were able to take up a collection, we purchased a H-P DLP projector and, using documentaries from NetFlix, we started having informative and entertaining DVD programs, with improved attendance.

Locally, we offer those with less than the national mandated "25 years"
an opportunity to participate fully in our chapter activities. This may not be 100% kosher, but what the heck, we are alive and growing.

The same can't be said for all chapters (I wish it were different, but it ain't). Out of all of the chapters listed on the national website, the number of remaining and active chapters is dwendling and there seems to be no stemming of the tide.

So, gentlemen, it's time to be big men (er, big boys?) and accept our responsibility to our national organization to see that there is an influx of new and live blood, for (I fear) the "Iron" in our collective blood has turned to "lead" in our "gluteous maximus".

Only the paid, national members, contacting their national directors can demand the kind of tough decisions needed to keep the "old ark amoverin'".

If it "push" comes to "shove", the Rule 25 is a relic and must be eliminated or modified to recruit new (extra class lite) members and revitalize QCWA.

So, there you have it, you are either a part of the problem or a hope for the future of QCWA.
