[QCWA] What is QCWA?

I think we need to ask the question:
Is QCWA a social club?
or
Is QCWA a mentoring/technical organization?
If it is a social club, then membership should require the full 25 years and
there are no associates.
If it is a mentoring/technical organization, then we should allow associates
with appropriate privileges. (i.e. no voting)
Unfortunately I think QCWA tends to be a social club. I believe it needs
to be both. Membership can range in age from the 30's (when I could have
joined) to a guy in Alabama who checks into the Ch 41 net every Sunday who
is 100 years old!
Right now I have been licensed continuously for 49 years. I would like to
go to a club meeting where I hear everything from "Spark Gap Sea Stories" to
being updated on the latest technology trends.
As for voting, I did not vote. When I saw how long I had until the ballot
had to be returned, I thought I would do some research before voting. The
ballot got buried on the desk and the deadline passed.
