Because there isn't much drawing a ham who qualifies for QCWA who is a
younger guy...
NO mal intent suggested or implied...but for a 37 to 47 year old...there
isn't much drawing them to a QCWA meeting where they have little in
common with a more 'senior' ham ..other than having been licensed for
25+ years. They just feel more "joined" if you will with fellow hams
their age....

There are a HANDFUL...of chapters who have die hard DXers, Contesters,
Electronic Gadget gurus...etc..that really appeal to hams outside the
group... but alas,
they are the minority. I tip my hat to them and wish every chapter
were able to use them as a "TEMPLATE" of success...but that is a
dream of mine..not every ham in this wonderful hobby we share...

We will indeed witness a sharp decline in the membership
numbers...but....the numbers will eventually raise back up surpass
membership numbers of today...
But...it isn't going to happen any time soon.....It will only happen
when the newer blood takes over and is willing to push the envelope and
portray the 'group' as something other than just a bunch of "old dudes"
who have been around awhile. Only when the good ole boy network is
broken and attention to detail at every level is targeted will many want
to join....Join a group that offers them something.... something they
can connect to as a whole...
