Bob,

Good day amigo, hope you are well. Part of what you say is
true regarding the future of amateur radio.
But why must you wait until they join QCWA in order to Elmer
them?
It is my mantra to get out and teach them anyway...no matter
what club they belong ....or even if they are not part of a
club.

When they get to be licensed for at least 25 years, and "if"
they are inclined to join QCWA...then so be it.... but that
is what QCWA will always be....AND...
with hams now younger than ever....you will see a big
"swing" in membership objectives as they start joining as
young as 33....
I became a QCWA member at age 37....not because I had
anything to learn from anyone or that I had an interest in
the spark gap era ..<smiling>
but because it was a club for hams who have been licensed
(not active) for at least 25 years.

God knows there are other clubs better suited for the
younger ham in today's world than at most QCWA meetings.
