Joe....we also had an AARS position at the rear of the station at
WAR.....they had two signal corps operators assigned to it.....had a W3 call
which escapes me now but they acted as net control on a big area net.
The positon was shut down after Dec 7th as the radio amateurs were placed in
the silent mode.
It was a manual positon and was later used for communicating with outlying
stations without high speed.
The station in SF was WVY and we always had good communication with them 24
hrs a day.
