Norm I would swear that you and Unbenown to each other worked each
other via Boehme many times. I was at WVN in 41 and 42 same as you
were at WAR. Guess what was the choice operating posn at WVN
in those days. One day a week someone would be assigned to the
"AARS" circuit. We had about 4 oprs on each shift, and the
guys got into a big hassle on that one day and wanted to work
the AARS cct. We used our assigned freqcy (not inside the
ham band) and the AARS members used fqcys inside the ham band.
Once we collected their morale traffic, we sent it direct to
to the WD radio stn at the presisio of SFO. They in turn
sent it to All pacific points like Schofield, Guam, Phillipines
etc via MARS freqcys. A msg could be transferred from SanJuan
to Phillipines with 2 relays and usually make it within 30
mins.
Joe ex (W4FAG in thouse days)
