The key word here is "newsgroups" - which -- in general -- has beome ubiquitious wth lies and inuendo. In other words, about 99.99999% of what you see posted on rec.radio.amateur.policy, or redc.radio.amateur.misc, or rec.radio.amateur.....whatever ones "favorite" might be -- is just that. Ham radio fanaticism based on pure fantisy.

So as to allay everyones fears, the story of the FCC outlawing the use of Morse is 100% FALSE! It was another of the numerous lies concocked by the "hams wihout radios" who inhabit the newsgroups (most of whom could likely not find a QSO on the air).

If you take time to give it some thought, why would the FCC give this kind of informatn to folks on a public forum that is better knwn for half-truths than accurate information? When the FCC has important info for the wold of Amateur Radio, they just -mail or call the ARRL, us at ARNewsline and a bunch of ham magazins. Within a short time the accurate story -- based on fact -- has reached about 95% of all active radio amaeurs -- and likely-- a good percentage of those who are inactive but still keeping track of happenings in the hobby.

Just because the word "news" appears in "newsgroups" does not mean that these groups contain anything "newsworthy." In fact, the name "nerwsgroups" is a definate misnomer because I have yet to find anything of "news" value on any of them. In my humble opinion, a better name for then would be the "inuendo-groups."
