[QCWA] Journal expense

Hi Ken....thanks for your response..... I would comment as follows:

" Does your "other organization" produce a newsletter similar to the QCWA
Journal? In this I mean, is it the same number of pages, number of photos,
including the front and back covers in full color, and the same number of
advertising pages (in color) etc? "

It averages 20 pages......some of which are in color, photos etc.
there is very little advertising but they do not depend on revenue from
advertising.

" If it were all that
easy, and fool-proof, I am sure the ARRL and others would seek the
alternative way - as you mention. "

Not so; QST and CQ are commercial endeavors with a staff that works at
procuring advertising for revenue. I do believe that QST produces a version
for handicapped people but dont knew the details.

I cant even remember the last time I ever saw any advertising on the inside
cover of the Journal.....very expensive wasteful space to say the least.

I personally would be quite satisfied with a digital version which I could
keep or delete after receipt.

My copies of our Journal are usually given to others to stimulate interest
in QCWA.
