Joe,
If you belong to the ARRL, they will automatically send you a renewal form a
few months before your license expires.  Most of the form is already filled
out.  As I recall, pretty much all you have to do is sign and date it.  You
send it to the ARRL, and the new license arrives in a short time.  There is
no charge for the service if you are an ARRL member. You may be somewhat
early in any case.  I don't believe the FCC will accept renewal applications
until 3 months before your license expires. In any case, good luck with the
renewal.
