Fair question. No, I am not running for office. See my answer to Bill
Pasternak. I have not posted before and I have not been on the mail list
for a long time. Nothing much of interest. But this bothers me, as you
can tell.

I was first licensed 60 years ago. Amateur radio was responsible for
getting me into a successful technical career. I am very much concerned
for the future of our hobby. Technology has overtaken it and we must
redefine it. Currently, I work HF, VHF, UHF, and using voice and several
digital modes. In the past, I worked every ham satellite over a span of
about 15 years. I am a VE active with three VECS, active member of RACES
in ID and CA, have taught ham license classes, and am President of QCWA Leo
Meyerson Greater Palm Springs Area Chapter 154. At age 78, I am too old to
take on more. Further, I do believe one could be elected by the current
constituency unless he were more active than I on HF.

So, I would prefer a role for QCWA that would help, in my view, enhance the
future of amateur radio.

But all this has little to do with why John Johnston is not responsive to
my concern.
