March 26, 2005: Dan Schultz, N8FGV, on the Hubble Space Telescope

Dan, who is a flight controller for the telescope, began his talk by 
explaining why having a telescope above the Earth's atmosphere can 
provide images and measurements not possible with ground-based 
telescopes.  He then described briefly the mission control room where 
he works and how communications with the telescope are relayed through 
NASA-operated communication satellites.  He then gave us a fascinating 
tour of the universe as it is now understood by astronomers...
