Wanted to comment on Ralphs memories of XERF, their DF Wolfman Jack and his
propensity for
rock and roll and some good blues. He was very popular and after XERF he
moved into some big
radio markets in the states. Some of you will appreciate being able to
listen to some audio clips of
the Wolfman Jack on a website dedicated to his work. There are lots of
clips from XERA and XERF.
My favorite is on the site below and he does a station ID, introduces
himself and then goes into a radio
spot selling a hundred baby chickens for $3.95. That includes an
autographed lifesized picture of "HIM",
not himself, just "HIM" and we are not sure who it is. The station got in
hot water for selling autographed
pictures of Jesus Christ so maybe that was their way around it. Who knows,
but the clips are priceless.

Here is the URL for the website:
http://wolfmanjack.org/audio/
The audio clips are all free; some are very large files by the way so watch
out for those unless you have
broadband internet.
