Check w/your provider.  They may offer 2 or 3 different speed options.  I've
got the "mid-range" which is comparable to my cable modem service.  I'm also
fairly close to a switch so there's not a lot of DSL customers between me
and the trunk.

The reason for my switch was service outages during the hurricanes here in
FLA recently and the lack of repair action on the part of the cable company.
30 days without cable the first go around wasn't pleasant.  Only lost phone
service for 2 hours during the 2nd storm.

Just for curiosity purposes.  Why would you switch from cable to DSL which
runs at a fraction of the speed of cable??
